2. Provide a valid phone number. - If there’s any question about the validity of your order, they will need to contact you.  A simple 2 minute phone call can save you days of waiting for your replica watch.
3. Give them a valid e-mail. - If they can’t contact you by phone, they’ll need an e-mail address.  This is probably a slower way of validating your order, so we’d suggest also leaving a valid phone number.  Either way, respond as quickly as possible to speed up your order.
4. Pay by credit card. - Sites may offer discounts on Western Union or COD orders (because they want to sidestep any problems with credit card companies, not because it benefits you at all) but don’t be fooled.  Credit card purchases are much faster and provide you with much better protection.

The following is an e-mail that we received from one of our readers that details the typical experience with ItalianFakes.net or GlobalReplica.com:

“To Whom It May Concern:

Just wanted to let you guys know that Italianfakes.net is a terrible website, they sent me a horribly low-grade explorer II rolex, the dial was this strange cream color and the movement was almost quartz-like. I called them 3 times and they hung up on me all three times and now I am

According to their website, they claim to have been selling “Italian replica watches” for 5 or 7 years and they say:

“The principal focus of the company has always been selling meticulous Italian Replica Watches.  Italian watches have proven to be just as amazing as Swiss watches for a fraction of the cost.  Why settle for Japanese quality, when you really want Italian. Shop at Italian Fakes today for your quality timepiece.”

Sound familiar?  One of the only replica watch sites that we’ve ever seen claim to have “Italian” replica watches has been GlobalReplica.com.  As this article points out, GlobalReplica has even gone so far as to claim that the movements in their watches are made by Vespa; that’s right, the same company that makes mopeds/scooters.

We find it ridiculous enough that it has become standard in the replica watch industry to simply throw a country’s name in front of “replica watch” and expect people to believe that they’re actually manufactured there.  As we pointed out in the article above, all replica watches are produced in China and Vespa isn’t secretively making watch movements for use in the underground replica watch industry.  We do have to give GlobalReplica for concocting such an amazingly absurd source for their watch movements though.  Hats off to them.

As you go through the checkout process you’ll notice that they have banners up for GlobalReplica.  It would be very strange for a replica watch site to promote one of their competitors at the moment that you’re about to enter your payment details.  Clearly another sign that GlobalReplica and ItalianFakes.net are owned by the same people.

While none of us have actually purchased either, they could be right for some people.  Personally, we don’t see the need for a replica Rolex case because nobody ever sees our watches unless they’re on our wrists.  When you’re wearing a Rolex watch, nobody ever asks to see the box as proof.  Usually they just end up thrown in a drawer somewhere, never to be seen.

The only reason we can think of to purchase a replica Rolex case is if you’re giving it as a gift.  Even then, when giving a replica Rolex watch as a gift it’s morally right (in our opinion) to let the person know that you’re not actually giving them an authentic Rolex.  A Rolex case can be nice if you’re looking to present the gift in a nice way or to give them something to put their watch into when they’re not wearing it, but shouldn’t be used to fool somebody into thinking they’re receiving (or buying) an authentic Rolex watch.

As for the extended warranties?  In our opinion they’re usually unneccessary.  While AmatoryWatches.com seems to be pretty good about honoring warranties, most websites aren’t.  Buying an extended warranty from the wrong website can nearly double the price of the watch and provide you with no real added benefit.  A lot of replica watch sites are “fly by night” operations and won’t be there if your replica watch breaks down.  A replica watch warranty is ultimately up to the consumer.  If you buy from a reputable replica watch site it can save you money in the long run but it’s a gamble, just like buying an extended warranty on a new HDTV.  If you buy it and you never need a repair, it’s just an extra fee added on to your watch.  If you don’t buy it and need a repair outside of the standard warranty period, you’ll wish you had.  Either way, the choice is entirely up to you.

Like our previous article, Marketing BS 101, this article will talk about the replica watch advertising methods and over-the-top marketing buzzwords that shady replica watch sites use to sell their products.  While there are still some reputable replica watch sellers out there, the numbers seem to be dwindling and it’s harder than ever to find a trustworthy store to purchase from.  Here are a couple more of the claims that drive us crazy at ReplicaWatchNews.

Many stores like to claim that their watches are 99.99% replicas of the originals.  What exactly does that mean?  Does it mean they have 99.99% of the precious metals?  Does it keep 99.99% time?  This is another one of those claims that looks good to the potential customer but is really just a number pulled out of their asses in order to sell more watches.  I can see the genius who came up with this thinking, “Hmm, if we said our replica watches were 100% accurate it wouldn’t be believable… let’s say 99.99%!”  It’s a ridiculous claim and isn’t based on anything.  The vast majority of replica watches will have some little tell-tale sign that they’re not authentic, so what percent do you subtract for that?  While replica watches are a great way to buy a luxury watch at a much lower price, they’re not miracle workers.  Anyone that opens up your replica will be able to tell the difference and you can also be sure that your replica watch doesn’t have nearly the amount of gold that an authentic Rolex watch will have.  With that said, the vast majority of the public will most likely be completely unable to tell a quality replica watch apart from the real thing.

If you’ve ever read any complaints about any online replica watch stores you’ll know that getting a watch exchanged or cashing in on your “warranty” is nearly impossible.  Sadly, in this business it’s almost impossible to even get the reputable watch dealers to honor a warranty.  They simply deal with too many companies and have too many costs and middle-men to make do on their promises.  That’s why we find it especially insulting to see GlobalReplica.com’s “Extended Warranty” offerings.  We’ve written about GlobalReplica several times in the past but this is a whole new way they’ve come up with to rip people off.  They now offer Extended Warranties for their watches that range from $29.95 to $299.99!  While we do sympathize with anyone who has been ripped off by these scammers, anyone who would pay an additional $300 for a 4 year warranty are just asking someone to take their money.

For those of us who have never grown up and still sleep with Superman bedsheets, we’ve decided to present a couple of our favorite replica watches that pay homage to the greatest superhero of all time. The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean is one of the boldest and most exciting replica Omega watches that we’ve seen.  It features either an orange or black bezel and is available with a linked bracelet, a vulcanized rubber band or even orange leather. The rotating bezel is much improved over previous Seamaster models and has deep grooves which make it easy to grasp and rotate.
